MassLib's Compatibility with Mass Spectrometers

MassLib reads most current mass spectrometers' dataformat using Open Analysis. Once open the user may optionally store (Save As) the analysis in the MassLib format for later reuse.

For the file import the user has various options. In particular he may specify what header information he wants to get from the original datafile for later use when storing to libraries or upon doing reports. This mechanism avoids retyping of information and (if properly set up) the major cause of mistakes and errors in the database.
